Chocolate Banana Cake
Chocolate Banana Cake 1
This is the cake we make the most. Moist and tasty. It started life as a banana cake but we found the chocolates adds that special something.
125 grams butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
- cream until light and fluffy
2 eggs
- Add one at a time, beating well after each.
1 cup mashed bananas (about 3)
- Add and mix well
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons hot milk
- Dissolve soda in the milk
- Add to batter
Packet of dark chocolate chips
- Sprinkle over mixture.
2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
- Sift into mixture
- Mix
- Bake at 180 C for 50 minutes.
Chocolate Banana Cake 2
Yum.
Preheat over to 165° C.
1 teaspoon coffee or expresso coffee
1/2 cup cocoa
150 grams butter
1/2 cup milk
- Heat on hob on medium heat until smooth cream.
- Remove from heat.
1 teaspoon Vanilla essense
- add to mixture.
- Leave to cool.
4 big eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown demara sugar
pinch of salt
- Beat in bowl for 10 minutes until frothy.
- Slow beater speed.
- Add cream of cocoa milk to mixture.
- Keep beating.
100 ml sour cream
1 1/2 cups flour
- Add to mixture and keep beating.
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Add to mixture and keep beating.
- Beat until blended.
6 small bananas, mashed
200 grams dark chocolate chunks
- Add to mixture and mix in.
Butter
- Grease a 28 cm ring tin or two loaf tins
2-3 tablespoons Sugar
- Sprinkle sugar onto greased surfaces of baking tin(s).
- Pour mixture into tin(s).
- If ring tin, bake for 50-60 minutes at 165° C.
- If loaf tins, bake for 40-45 minutes at 165° C.
- Cool for 15 minutes on a rack.
