Bran Muffins (Fiona Masters)

A classic from the days when the only muffins were bran muffins.

1 ½ cups flour

2 cups bran

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1 ½ tablespoons sugar

Fruit and crap

  • Mix

1 ½ tablespoons golden syrup

2 tablespoons butter

  • Melt

¾ cups milk

¾ cups water

1 egg

  • Add to butter

  • Mix

  • Pour over the dry ingredients

  • Mix (at most 20 strokes)

  • Bake at 180º C for 15-20 minutes
