Balagan on Software Development
At work I’m a Software Development Manager.
Two decades of studying and applying a variety of methods in computing (Prince2, DSDM, Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum, Kanban, Personal Software Process, CMM, ISO9000, SSADM, UML, JAD, RAD, UI Design, and more) haven't actually left me with many artefacts to offer the IT industry - but it has left with with strong views about what works which is why I'm keen on Agile.
I have a project in mind which involves building a dynamic web site. Tim Brown at work suggested I used Ruby on Rails. I have a quick look and experiment a couple of years ago but everything went on hold when baby Dana came along. Now I've started to have a look again but this time I'm recording my explorations.
In 2009 I decided to brush up on my technical skills. That was part of the motivation for revamping this site. I started a Web Development Blog about my explorations in this area. Initial comments were about HTML and CSS as I worked on the site but this will move into Ruby on Rails.
