What's New
14 May 2008: After Action Report for Andalusian Motorcade
I played my Andalusian Motorcade
Scenario with Chris Harrod and wrote an After Action
Report. It is a bit embarrassing, but this is the first outing
of my Spanish Civil War
figures.
12
Apr 2008: Converting Ansar to Riffi
I've already got the Spanish Foreign
Legion and 2nd Tabor of Regulares of Tetuán
for the Rif
War but I've been
struggling to find actual Riffi figures. So I decided to make my
own and Convert Ansar Figures into Riffi.
09 Apr 2008: Unit Pages
After doing a page on my Russian Naval Infantry
Battalion I thought I'd do something similar for other Crossfire battalions.
So far this means:
14 Mar 2008: Andalusian Motorcade
Updated my thinking on my draft Spanish Civil War
scenario Andalusian Motorcade.
13 Mar 2008: Crossfire Basing
I wrote up how I Base figures for Crossfire,
including variations for FO and Commissars.
12 Mar 2008: Flags as Terrain Objective Markers
I use flags for my Terrain Objective Markers.
10 Mar 2008: 45 Pesetas
In the Spanish Civil War the Nationalists
paid a bounty of 45 Pesetas for each Republican T-26 tank captured. The Moroccans were keen on this
offer and through their endeavours
the Nationalists built up their own T-26 units. I have put together a
draft scenario called 45 Pesetas to
simulate this.
10 Mar 2008: Steven's Naval Infantry Battalion
To celebrate finally flocking my Russian Naval Infantry
Battalion I cobbled together a page on how they are organised.
09 Mar 2008: Unit IDs
Wrote up my current thinking about Unit IDs in Crossfire.
16 Mar 2007: 92nd Naval Infantry in Stalingrad
We played a multi-player version of my scenario 92nd Naval Infantry - The Sea
Devils and I wrote up an After
Action Report.
03 Mar 2007: SU-152s Up Close and Personal
Rich Wilcox and I played out SU-152s
up close and personal from the Tarnopol 3 Round
Campaign and I wrote up an After
Action Report.
28 Feb 2007: Planned Operational Zones
I made the Planned Operational Zones
house rule slightly more lenient. You can now move in another
operation zone, but risk losing the initiative.
27 Feb 2007: 92nd Naval Infantry - The Sea Devils
A scenario featuring the 92nd
Naval Infantry in their first encounter in Stalingrad.
21 Dec 2006: Astrang Crossings Scenario
I converted a the Astrang
Crossings scenario I saw in the SOTCW Journal. The 5th Seaforths fight
off German attacks from both sides
19 Dec 2006: Analysis of the Moving Clock
I've found the Moving Clock from HTD
very useful so I thought I'd
analyse how it is used in the various scenarios.
16 Dec 2006: Kodorov Battle Report
Chris Harrod and I played the Kodorov
scenario and I wrote up the Battle Report
10 Dec 2006: How to make Wooden Buildings
Wrote up my instructions for Making
Soviet/Russian style Wooden Buildings in 15 mm, although still lacking
enough photos
08 Dec 2006: 'Old Chapel' Scenario
I finally got around to tweaking the victory conditions for the 'Old
Chapel' Scenario for the Blue
Division. I'm hoping to try it out soon. It is novel because the
defender really wants to escape rather than fight it out
07 Dec 2006: Zerstorer Scenario for Russians
Changed the Zerstorer
scenario so there is a Russian option (rather than British). Seems fair
enough to me given I've got Russian figures and not British
26 Nov 2006: 3rd Battle of Kharkov
I played the 3rd Battle of Kharkov
scenario with Chris Harrod, and wrote up a Battle
Report
26 Oct 2006: Stalingrad
Finished my write up of the Stalingrad
campaign through to 18 Nov, i.e. just before the Soviet offensive.
21 Oct 2006: Zerstorer: A Crossfire Scenario
Converted Matt Hingely's Zerstorer
scenario into Crossfire. This is not your average run of the mill
attack-defence scenario. The Germans are trying to evacuate a top secret
war winning weapon, and the Allies are trying to prevent this
16 Oct 2006: Korean War
Cut and pasted some excerpts on the Korean War
from the Crossfire Discussion Forum
02 Sep 2006: Unit Identification
Added photos of several variations of Unit Identification
that I've tried
30 Aug 2006: Northern Pocket
Made a CC2 map for the northern table of my Pocket
split-table game
23 Jul 2006: Trench Warfare
Wrote up my current thinking of Trench
Warfare using Crossfire

Russian Recce - from my Tarnopol 3 Round
Campaign and I wrote up a After
Action Report

Moved CF6.7 Revealing hidden squads on a One [Optional Rule]
to the House Rules. Although optional it is
starting to appear a lot in scenarios

(Advanced) Squad Leader Scenarios to Crossfire
29 May 2006: More FAQ
Added two items to the FAQ:
19 May 2006: Perano Scenario ideas
Wrote up the Kiwi and Indian attack on Perano,18 Nov
1943. This was the first time New Zealand tanks saw combat. I've
included thoughts for a Crossfire scenario
05 May 2006: Scenario Guidelines
Revamped the Scenario Guidelines page
to give it a structure matching the Scenario
Template. Lots of suggestions for Missions, Objectives, Maps, Balanced
Forces, etc
04 May 2006: SU152s up close and personal
Added Victory Conditions to the Tarnopol scenario SU152s
up close and personal. It is a urban scenario on a 3'x2' table and
introduces SU152s - surprise, surprise - and Anti-tank Barricades
14 Apr 2006: No-mans Land - A Crossfire Mini-Campaign
Tweaked No-mans Land - A Crossfire
Mini-Campaign to make it more playable, including using Ghosts
9 Apr 2006: Kiwis in WW2
Not Crossfire directly, but related. I started work on a
chronology of New Zealand involvement in WW2.
It will be a long time before it is finished
8 Apr 2006: Time scale
Added What
is the time scale? to the FAQ based on discussion on the Crossfire discussion
forum, and supplemented this with further musings on my Time

Frontages and Formations, plus a new
section on Artillery and Mortar Tactics
26 Mar 2006: Ranges
Added some musing on Ranges in Crossfire but
without rulers
05 Mar 2006: Massive rearrangement
Rearranged my entire wargaming section, and moved Crossfire one level up in
the folder hierarchy, thus effectively breaking all links from outside
(sorry). This included moving all Crossfire related pages into
the same area, including Spanish Civil War, Blue
Division, New Zealand Wars, and Arab-Israeli
Wars - such as they are.
Also added a page on Making Wooden Buildings
for Crossfire on the Eastern Front
26 Feb 2006: Tarnopol Scenarios
Added five scenarios to flesh out my Tarnopol
3 Round Campaign:
22 Feb 2006: 2d6 Armour Rules
Some musings on Armour uses using 2d6
rather than ACC + PEN

Italy and NW Europe.
Added a new Russian
Brigade Orbat covering Oct 1941 - Jun 1942. This is the
one the early Naval Infantry Brigades would have used
