Crossfire: Steven's Russian Rifle Battalion
Once I had my Grenadiers of the Spanish Blue Division
I had to get somebody to fight them. Russians of course, and the default
unit is a Rifle Battalion.
Figures
The majority of the figures are Battle
Front although I've filled in some gaps in the figures with Peter
Pig. Roland Davis painted most of the figures.
Order of Battle
1 x Rifle Battalion
1 x BC (+1)
1 x Heavy Weapons Company:
3 x HMG [4 guns each]
3 x FO for off table 82mm Mortar (12 FM) [4 tubes
each]
1 x 45mm ATG with optional tow
3 x Rifle Companies
1 x CC (+1)
1 x HMG
1 x on-table 50mm Mortar (12 FM) [4 tubes each]
3 x Rifle
Platoons: PC (+1/0), 4 x Rifle

PC and HMG

On-table 82mm Mortars
Artillery

Submachine Gun Company
This unit is the SMG company of a regiment. Everybody has a
SMG. Technically it shouldn't have heavy weapons (HMG, and
Mortar)
1 x SMG Company
1 x CC (+1)
1 x HMG
1 x on-table 50
mm Mortar (12 FM)
3 x SMG Platoons: PC (+1/0), 3 x SMG, one with ATR
Note: These
guys get 2d6 shooting normally and 4d6 at point blank range. In close
combat these chaps get +1 for being SMG (versus Infantry
only).

Assault Engineers
1 x Assault
Engineer Platoon (Veteran)
+1/0 PC, 3 x Assault Engineer Rifle Squads,
one with ATR
Note: These chaps get a +2 in Close Combat: +1 for
being Assault Engineer and +1 for being Veteran. They can remove
minefields.

Reconnaissance Company
Battle
Front did some guys in camouflage suits, so I just had to get some Russian
Scouts.
1 x Divisional Reconnaissance Company (Veteran)
1 x CC (+1)
3 x Scout Platoon: PC (+1/0), 3 x SMG
Command & Control: Adventurous (i.e. German)

Russian Armour
The majority of my vehicles are Battle
Front although I've filled picked up some others as well. Roland Davis painted the
T34-76s. The KV-1s, T34-85s and SU-76Ms were done by Grubby Tanks.
Ian Galley painted the SU-152s and SU-76is.
